A delegation of the Mauritius Sports Council was in Rodrigues from 19 to 23 April 2011 for implementation of the Sports Medicine Programme in secondary schools.
The delegation was as follows:
The Programme was held in two secondary schools namely Grande Montagne College and Le Chou College. 200 students from both college were present for the talks. The delegation noted a very good response from the students and Management of these institutions. The Sports Council offered the following equipment:
A quiz was held on topics related to the themes on which the resource persons intervened. Winners of Grande Montagne College are Ms. Pascaline Azie, Ms. Aniella Jean Louis, Mr. Louis Bryan Lisette and Mr. Michael Jolicoeur and those of Le Chou College are Mr. Sebastien Prudence, Mr. Swee Jame Bryan, Ms. Prisco Anais Gontrand and Ms. Cecilia Collet. They were offered polo shirt as gift.
Mr. J. C. Agathe, the Commissioner for Youth & Sports in Rodrigues attended the programme at Le Chou College.
A meeting was held with representatives of Regional Sports Committees of Rodrigues who made representations to the Sports Council for more inter actions between their Sports Committees and the Sports Council. The delegation visited sports infrastructure namely Camp du Roi stadium, Malabar gymnasium and football grounds.
