The aims and objects of the MNOC shall be:- |

| 1 | to ensure the development and protection of the Olympic Movement and sport in general; | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| 2 | to observe and enforce the Rules as laid down in the “OLYMPIC CHARTER”; | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

| 4 | to organise, together with the respective National Federation, the preparation of selected athletes, thereby ensuring that Mauritius is represented in the Olympic Games as well as Regional, Continental and other Games having the patronage of the International Olympic Committee. The final entry in the Olympic Games, Regional, Continental and other Games held under the patronage of the International Olympic Committee shall remain the exclusive responsibility of the Mauritius Olympic Committee which shall base itself not only on an athlete’s sports performance but also on his/her ability to be an example to the sporting youth of the country; | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| 5 | to undertake the organisation of theses Games if they are held in Mauritius; | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| 6 | to submit proposals to the International Olympic Committee with regard to the “Olympic Charter", the Olympic Movement in general as well as the organisation and conduct of the Olympic Games; | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| 7 | to maintain all necessary contacts with National Olympic Committees of other countries and to work in concert with private and governmental bodies; | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| 8 | to ensure the observance in Mauritius of Rules 12,13,14,15,16 and 17 of the Olympic Charter and of their bye laws, to take steps to prohibit any use of the Olympic symbol, flag, motto or anthem which would be contrary to these Rules and their bye laws and to endeavour to obtain protection of the designations “Olympic” and “Olympiad” for the benefit of the International Olympic Committee. The Mauritius Olympic Committee may only use the Olympic symbol, flag, motto and anthem within the framework of its non profit making activities, provided such use contributes to the development of the Olympic Movement and does not detract from its dignity and provided it has obtained prior approval of the International Olympic Committee Executive Board; | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
